Your words are good enough to eat.
What are you...? I said I wanted you to *read* my manuscript.
When I said you'd have to eat your words, I meant it as a metaphor!

When I said I hoped you'd really devour my latest draft, I didn't mean it literally!

Edna decides that learning that those semi-circle stains on the manuscript weren't coffee wasn't going improve her life.
On the other hand, her newest assistant editor was about to be delighted to get her first chance at editing a real, live book.
Eddie always heard everyone had one book in them...writers block made him desperate enough to ingest Susan's rough draft.
