Old typewriters as mechanical art

The Copywriter Underground has a great post about how clunky manual typewriters have undergone a transformation.

I remember typewriters well! There was no "delete" key!

I used to have a typewriter when I was little. It used to be so frustrating when I got something wrong and had to start again. My typewriter didn't look as nice as the one above. I checked out the other blog about the typewriters, and there is a beauty to the old antique typewriters.

Now we have our shiny computers. This may mean that we are moving into a postmodern society where nothing is original and everything can be duplicated. But, without the computer we wouldn't have the wonderful world of the internet.

I have never really used a typewriter properly, but I can't imagine what I would do without a delete key!
